Benny Carlson (born 1950) is associate professor at the Department of Economic History at Lund University. He started out as a journalist in the 1970s. His main area of interest is the history of economic and social ideas, particularly the exchange of ideas between Germany, the United States, and Sweden during the 20th century. His research has of late revolved around “Sweden and Bretton Woods” and “American welfare capitalism and social engineering.” He is also engaged in research and evaluations concerning immigrants on/off the Swedish labor market.
