Stephen R. Munzer is Distinguished Professor of Law at the University of California, Los Angeles. He earned a B.Phil. in philosophy from Oxford University and a J.D. from Yale Law School. Previously he practiced law at Covington & Burling and taught philosophy at Rutgers University. Most of his published work is on legal and political theory. He also writes on law and biotechnology, the philosophy of religion, and body modification. He is a recipient of the David Baumgardt Memorial Fellowship and the Berger Prize in the Philosophy of Law from the American Philosophical Association and of a Fellowship from the National Endowment for the Humanities.
