Abstract

This profile continues the Econ Journal Watch project exploring the ideological sensibilities of the economics laureates. Lars Peter Hansen shared the Nobel Prize in 2013 for work in “empirical analysis of asset prices.” Hansen is very reserved in elaborating or even disclosing his own tendencies in ideological judgment. Various evidence suggests a broadly classical liberal outlook characteristic of ‘freshwater’ economic science.
