Here collected are anecdotes and miscellanea about David Hume. Most of the 25 items presented here may also be found in James Fieser’s marvelous 10-volume compilation Early Responses to Hume (Thoemmes Press, 2nd revised edition 2005), volumes 9 and 10 containing material about Hume’s life and reputation. Included here also are Hume’s 1775 “Advertisement” disavowing A Treatise of Human Nature, and an excerpt from the Conclusion of Book I of that work.
