Abbas Mirakhor received his Ph.D. from Kansas State Uni­versity in 1968. He taught at various universities until 1984, when he joined the Research Department of the International Monetary Fund. In 1990 he was elected to the Executive Board of the IMF where he served until retirement in 2008. Since 2010, he has been the First Holder of the Chair of Islamic Fi­nance at the International Center for Education in Islamic Fi­nance (INCEIF). His email address is abbas@​mirakhor.com.
