Arild Sæther is professor emeritus in economics, Agder Academy of Sciences and Letters, Kristiansand, Norway. He has held administrative and academic positions at the University of Agder in Kristiansand since 1970. He has for two and a half years been professor of European economic integration at the European Institute of Public Administration, Maastricht, the Netherlands; for three years, he has been Director of EuroFaculty Tartu-Riga-Vilnius. His teaching and research areas include micro and macroeconomics, welfare economics, European economic integration, international economics, regional economics, economic history and the history of economic thought.
