Benny Carlson

Benny Carlson is professor at the Department of Economic History at Lund University School of Economics and Manage­ment. He started out as a journalist in the 1970s. His main area of interest is the history of economic and social ideas, particularly the exchange of ideas between Germany, the United States, and Sweden during the 20th century. This research has concerned such themes as the German historical school, American institutionalism, American welfare capital­ism and social engineering, Bretton Woods, deregulation, U.S. welfare reform, and the economic integration of Somali refugees.
