“The Provosts of the Merchants and Aldermen of the city of Lyon, being assembled…with the Directors of the Chamber of Commerce” wrote a reply, dated 24 February 1753, to a memorial that had been written to the Chamber of Commerce of Lyon by Vincent de Gournay. The reply was signed: “Flachat de St-Bonnet. — Rieussec. — Torrent. — Bietrix. — Pitiot. — Layeuvre the elder. — Brou the elder. — Duclaux. — Briassou.”
