Dan Klein is professor of economics and JIN Chair at Merca­tus Center at George Mason University, where he leads a pro­gram in Adam Smith. He has written short appreciations of David Hume’s and Adam Smith’s liberal attitudes on foreign affairs here, here, and here. He is the author of Smithian Morals, Central Notions of Smithian Liberalism, and Knowledge and Coordination: A Liberal Interpretation, and co-editor of Edmund Burke and the Perennial Battle, 1789–1797.
