John Whitehead is a professor in the Department of Economics at Appalachian State University. He received his Ph.D. in economics from the University of Kentucky. His research is focused on benefit estimation in environmental and sports economics. He has published over 100 peer-reviewed articles and book chapters, and has co-edited two books. He is currently an associate editor at Marine Resource Economics and on the editorial council of the Journal of the Association of Environmental and Resource Economists.
