Marjorie Griffin Cohen is an economist who is a Professor of Political Science and Gender, Sexuality and Women’s Studies at Simon Fraser University. Her research focuses on political economy and public policy with special emphasis on the Canadian economy, women, labour, electricity deregulation, energy and the environment, and international trade agreements. Her most recent books are Public Policy for Women; Remapping Gender in the New Global Order; Governing Under Stress: Middle Powers and the Challenge of Globalization; and Training the Excluded for Work. She currently is involved in two research projects related to global warming and labour, and one project dealing with the political economy of ‘austerity.’ Her email address is mcohen@sfu.ca.
