Martin van Staden is head of legal policy and research at the Free Market Foundation, a Johannesburg-based classical liberal think tank in South Africa. At the time of writing he was pursuing a Master of Laws at the University of Pretoria. He has written one book, The Constitution and the Rule of Law: An Introduction (2019), and contributed to and edited several others, including The Real Digital Divide: South Africa’s Information and Communication Technologies Policy (2017), Fallism (2017), and Igniting Liberty: Voices for Freedom Around the World (2019). He is the editor-in-chief of Being Libertarian. Martin is an alumnus of Students for Liberty, having served on its African Executive Board between 2015 and 2018.
