Nassim Nicholas Taleb traded derivatives for 21 years before starting a research career. His research focuses on practical, mathematical, and philosophical problems with probability, as well as the ability of systems to handle disorder. He is the author of the Incerto, a tetralogy (Antifragile, The Black Swan, Fooled by Randomness, The Bed of Procrustes), and its mathematical backup Silent Risk.
