Scott Sumner

Scott Sumner has taught economics at Bentley University for the past 32 years. He earned a B.A. in economics at Wisconsin and a Ph.D. at Chicago. His research has been in the field of monetary economics, particularly the role of the gold standard in the Great Depression. In 2009 he had begun research on the relationship between cultural values and economic liberal­ization when he was pulled back into monetary economics by the crisis.
